St. Joseph’s Medical Health Center in Syracuse, New York sought to address the underserved neighborhoods surrounding the hospital.
An open space framework is introduced that fosters connectivity with the adjoining neighborhood fabric. Soft redevelopment sites are assembled that create new development opportunities with programs to benefit the hospital, private development and new research facilities.
A six-story patient tower expansion and emergency services building allocated space for an open space setback and performative, green infrastructure to create a new gateway to the campus.
