Work completed or initiated at Chan Krieger Sieniewicz.
The Challenge
Tensions between institutions and residential neighborhoods can be the result of too much density or too little. St. Joseph’s Medical Health Center needed to enhance the edges of the campus that were languishing as a result of too little new development, open spaces or infrastructure.
OUR RESPONSE
An open space framework fosters connectivity by creating a more legible network of spaces and locating new programs on underutilized sites.
The Results
A six-story patient tower expansion and emergency services building allocated space for an open space setback and performative, green infrastructure.
