When the Jasper Country Club closed in 2012, local institutions eyed the 60-acre landscape for an expansion of the nearby High School, a new Art Center and a new Library. The picturesque property would have been quickly subsumed by these civic institutions and their parking and access demands.
OUR RESPONSE
A light-touch solution established a managed meadow approach and preservation of tree canopy, reused existing cart paths for trails and added a new Nature Center.
The Results
Jasper Parklands preserved the landscape and topography for recreational and community use. The former clubhouse has been converted to a banquet facility and brewery.
