The Challenge
Located on the periphery of the airport grounds, the former brownfield site was defined by a ten foot high concrete blast wall and surrounded by surface parking and service facilities. The previous structure had no naturalized areas or sense of arrival.
OUR RESPONSE
The terminal is setback to form a landscaped plaza. A wood liner masks the blast wall and connects the exterior to the interior waiting lounge.
The Results
The 22,000 square feet LEED-certified General Aviation Facility opened in 2007. All public areas provide panoramic views towards the runway.
