Attleboro Riverfront District

Transit-Oriented Development Plan

Client

  • City of Attleboro

Team

  • Gamble Associates

The Challenge

Commuter rail stations are great regional opportunities, but their expansive surface parking requirements limit connectivity by distancing the station and platform from amenities. Fifteen acres of surface parking surround the station and separate the rail from Attleboro’s downtown and river.

OUR RESPONSE

A series of linear landscapes bring the recently-completed Riverfront Park into the site, defining development parcels and offering physical and visual connections to the river.

The Results

The city is preparing an RFP process for transit-oriented development based on a framework plan.
