As an outgrowth of economic development goals identified in the town Master Plan, areas of “economic underutilization” were identified where the historic town could still grow, leveraging proximity to public transit while preserving the character of small scale residential neighborhoods.
OUR RESPONSE
The Guidelines were crafted to reflect three parallel corridors unique to Arlington: bus transit, the mill waterway and the regional bike and pedestrian commuter path.
The Results
New development in the former industrial corridor between the three corridors is emerging, responding to the guideline principles.
